Winter Storm ‘04 - Day 2

Still snowing. And last night we had some freezing rain. So now we have several inches of snow, a layer of ice, then more snow. How fun to be driving in it! Except that we won’t be. Our house closing is now postponed until Monday. Arrrrggggg!

More pictures, now from Thursday morning:

As you can see, we’re going to have a fun time just trying to get out the door! Well, this pretty much guarantees that we’ll have a White Christmas since the temperatures are not really getting out of the teens (Friday night should be -10 degrees)!

Winter Storm ‘04 - Day 1

Here we are, Wednesday Dec. 22, 2004. It’s been snowing since we got up. I’ve already cancelled my two bell choirs that are supposed to meet this afternoon. I did all the calling, then found out that the church cancelled everything anyway!! Our class at the hospital has been cancelled too so Steve and I are pretty much home for the day. About 4-5 inches of snow have fallen. Amazingly, the weather people are predicting snow for today!! And tonight!! And tomorrow!! We’re supposed to get 6-10 inches today, 8-12 inches tonight and 2-4 inches tomorrow. Our house closing is supposed to be tomorrow. Any bets on whether that will actually happen?

Here is a picture of my poor car:

Hopefully we’ll be able to unbury it tomorrow!

Christmas!!!Oh crap!

So I’m not even ready for Christmas yet. I know that I only have a few presents to get, but the thought of actually braving the shopping environment gives me hives. Since my wrists are not partially numb due to the amount of baby blankets I have made the last few months, I am NOT making ANY Christmas gifts this year!! Thank God I got Steve and Erin’s blanket done (after three years…). At least I can look forward to some post-Christmas relaxing with the Rosencrantz family….yay for babies!!
