Still hungry

Here's what happens when the pantry door doesn't get shut properly. She's a growing girl!

Yes, she got the box down all by herself. Yes, she opened it all by herself. No, she didn't put it away when she was done. Why put things away when Mommy is around to do that kind of stuff?

We're going to the zoo, yep, yep, yep.

This past weekend, Evie and Alex had their first zoo experience. The four of us drove up to the Toledo Zoo (don't ask me why we drove 2 1/2 hours instead of just an hour, we love our car I guess!) and spent the afternoon with the animals. Unfortunately for us (and for the poor animals), it was extremely hot (at least in the mid-90s). Evie was still thrilled to see all the animals although not many were ones that she could name (No cows! No sheep! We did see ducks though). Alex was...well, he was just Alex. We still haven't gotten much beyond the eat/sleep/poop stage, but now he sits up better! And he smiles when he sees me (OK, he smiles at his dad too. And just about anyone else who will talk to him)! Below are the pictures. I didn't get too many of the kids since I was focused on getting pictures of animals for a book I'm making for Evie.

Election 2006

OK, we have a choice to make concerning our house. We recently had brand new windows installed. Orginally, the windows were black. To refresh your memory:

And now here's how the house currently looks with our new white windows:

And here is where the voting comes in. Below are 4 pictures Steve and I created to see how the house would look with various paints jobs. Since we're having difficulty deciding what looks best, we want to hear from others (if there are others actually reading this blog!). Comment and tell us which you like best. Or which you absolutely don't like. Or even give us new ideas (we're not keen on repainting the siding on the upper left side of the house!).

As a point of reference, anything light is supposed to be white (not always apparent with all the shadows) and the dark color is the same color as the siding.

The first picture is the one Steve originally came up with (garage door is dark, other parts white). The second picture is what I came up with when I looked at his idea (mostly dark with just trim white). The third picture is of the house with most everything dark and just the door white. The fourth picture is me having fun seeing what the house looks like with most everything (except the siding) white.

Let us know what you think. Or you could just compliment us on our wonderful taste in windows (ask us about the window company, we are now references for them!). Just speak your mind and vote for the best!
