Video

OK, I couldn't resist taking video of the kids. I have better ones coming soon (as soon as I figure out how to use Photoshop Premiere Elements) but for now enjoy the songs stylings of my two oldest.

Birthdays & Other Happenings

OK, I finally have posted something. I should be posting Christmas picture since I took a ton. Instead, you are stuck with birthday pictures! My birthday was at the beginning of the month. I'm am no longer a 20-something! Evie turned 4 yesterday. Vince turns 1 tomorrow. More pictures to come once we celebrate Vince's birthday. I also added some extra random pictures I've taken. Enjoy!

On the Go

Here is some new video of Vince hitting his latest milestone: walking! I'm not really looking forward to chasing 3 kids around so soon but I guess the draw of running with the big kids was just too much for my baby. Enjoy!

New Tricks

Just a quick post to show off some stuff. First is the first snow of the season. Just a dusting but we're still freezing! Second is Vince showing off his new trick of standing. He doesn't walk yet but he's getting better and better at standing! Last, look at those teeth. I don't have pictures of the top ones, but I'm sure he'll show those off soon too.

Please Excuse My Mess

Since I recently took up digital scrapbooking, I figured changing our website using my new found skills would be a fun process. But it is a learning process since I'm learning from whatever I can find on the net. If you see strange stuff over the next couple of days or weeks or even months, just ignore it. Or comment on it if you like it!

Something new

I finished my first complete sewing project (my first actual project is not completed, I still need to figure out the hem). I found an easy tutorial for a twirly skirt (want to make your own? Click here) and decided then and there to make it for Evie. I let her pick out the fabric and colors she wanted. Guess what. It's pink! And purple. No surprise there for my little princess.

Super cute girl! She picked the top out this morning too.

I should probably fix the lighting in this picture but it was too cute to not put in.

A close up view. Still working on sewing in a straight line, but thankfully you can't tell with this project.

Nov 6, 2008

It's been a little while since I posted here. Not due to any busy-ness on our part, mostly due to my own bad memory. I can never remember I have a blog to keep updated!

We made it home from Washington just fine at the end of August. I'd post pictures, but they really look the same as the pictures going out there. September was not that exciting. We didn't do anything really fun and there are no pictures so nothing to report there. Move along.

October has been a fun month! Vince and I flew back to Washington for a wedding and a quick visit. Traveling on my own with a baby is an experience I'd rather not repeat, but it went better than I hoped. There were plenty of very friendly and helpful people on our trip!

And now for the pictures! First there is Halloween. Evie decided to be a princess which was no big surprise. Alex has taken a liking to Superman and Batman (don't ask me why since he's only seen 1 Superman movie and no Batman movies as far as I can tell). He decided to be Superman for Halloween. Yay for easy to find costumes since I'm not quite ready to sew them yet! Vince had no choice in the matter. He was a Bumblebee Winnie the Pooh.

Next, beginning of November, we went through a corn maze. That was a load of fun! What a way to burn off some kid energy! Evie and Alex had a great time trying to find all the pieces to the map puzzle plus telling Mommy and Daddy which way to go. Vince, once again, was just along for the ride. But he had a great time too!

And finally, I'm going to show off some projects I've started. Since being at home full time, I've taken up quite a few hobbies. First up is sewing. I started a dress that I will probably finish in the next day or two since I finally figured out how to do the binding.

Since sewing is somewhat related to quilting, I've also taken up that hobby. I've practiced quilting some very, very small samples just to have an idea of how to do it on my machine, but I've finally started my first full project. I've sewed some squares together, and now I'm just trying to decide what to do with them. Leave them as shown or add some of one of the fabric seen on the sides? Decisions, decisions...

And these two projects would not be possible without the wonderful sewing table built especially for me by my wonderful husband. It also would not be possible without his infinite patience at my taking over the second half of our bedroom as my sewing room/office.

Yes, it is a little messy, and I'm even showing you the neat part!

I've also taken up knitting. I've practiced the basic stitches and have started my first actual project: slippers for me and Evie. Here is just the toe part that I finally figured out how to shape.

I also have a couple of crochet projects going but those might be Christmas gifts so I can't divulge those secrets just yet...

Lastly, I've also taken up digital photography and digital scrapbooking. I haven't gotten far with the photography part (I'm still using the point and click feature on my nice camera) but I've really gotten into the scrapbooking part.

Not my best work, but I'm saving most of them for Christmas projects.

And that's all there is from this house. I'll try to keep this page updated more often. Toodles!

Road Trip

For those of you who don't read my MySpace page or know me on Facebook, the kids and I are currently in Covington, WA. Sadly, my step-dad passed away a week and a half ago. The only way to get all the kids out here to help Mom was to drive. I did have help. Mom flew my sister Brittany out to Chicago so she could help me with the kids while I drove. My poor sister literally flew 3/4 of the way across the country to step right into a car at the airport and drive back to her home on a 4 day trip.

Not all is sadness. We've been keeping Grandma busy with all my little monkeys. She didn't know what she was asking when she wanted us out here! She took us to play at the Supermall one day, and then to Mt. Rainier the next. Who knows what will be next!

Anywho, on with some pictures. Click on the slideshow to go to Picasa's website to see the captions. Enjoy!

100!

Hey! I just noticed this will be the hundredth post! And how will we celebrate our one hundred posts? With pictures of the kids, of course! Enjoy!
