Evie and the library

Evie picking out a book to read. Posted by Picasa

Steve and I recently unpacked all our books to clean out the spare bedroom, now called "Alex's room". Unfortunately, we don't have nearly enough bookshelf space to fit even half the books we own so most of the books had to stay in boxes on the floor. Evie is loving this! Not only does she have plenty of places to pull herself up on, but she also has cool things to look at once she is standing. Also, there is the challenge of pulling all the books out of the boxes, which she hasn't quite mastered, thankfully.

Some of these pictures were added with 2 new programs that we downloaded that are supposed to make it easier to add pictures to our blog. We'll see. At the very least, the above picture was added with the new programs, we'll see if we can get the rest added with them.

Lastly, Evie tooth update: She now has at least 4 full-fledged baby teeth and is working on more. It looks like she has 3 or 4 more that are currently coming in. My baby is growing up! If I can a get picture of her big smile (harder to do than you would think it would be), then I'll post it here.

Trying to dislodge a folder from Mommy's box Picking out a book Daddy would be proud of

Is she picking out a book, or is she trying figure out how many she can pull off at a time? After a long day in the home library

Just for your info...

...we're having a boy! And not a little boy. Once again, I will be blessed with a large baby. Ultrasound was Tuesday. Alexander (so far our name we've picked out) is measuring a week ahead. The doctor informed me that little Xander (or Alex if you're talking to Steve) will be, at minimum, 9 lbs. when he makes his way into the world. Also, he will not be late. If I don't have the little guy by my due date (March 28, 2006), the doctor will be inducing me to avoid having too large of a baby.

As soon as I have some time, I'll post the ultrasound pictures. Also, I have some great pictures of Evie that I need to get up.

The Amazing Evie

I can't believe how much Evie has changed! She has just recently started crawling and pushing herself to a sitting position. Her newest talent is to stand! I'm a tad nervous about this. I have visions of me, very pregnant, chasing Evie around the house as she learns to run. Here are some pictures of her newest feat, along with some cute pictures of Evie with her Daddy.

The Changing House

Steve and I (well, mostly Steve) have done a lot of work on the house that we bought last December. We've painted almost every wall on the inside. The wall of mirrors in the dining room are no more. Every bit of wall paper has been taken down. Yesterday, we decided to finish up the exterior of the house.

I'm posting 4 pictures. The first is of the house last November or December (I honestly can't remember) when we were having inspections done while the former owners still lived here. I'd like to point out the scripture over the garage door and the completely dead (and propped up) tree directly in front of the big windows. Also, note the massive amount of "stuff" in the garden areas.

The second picture is of the house in the beginning of July, while the third and forth pictures are from today. Well, with big thanks to Steve and Sue (thanks Steve's Mom!), the exterior of our house is looking much better! In May, when Sue came for a visit, besides helping with some interior stuff, she also cleaned out our gardens in the front. I am the worst gardener (I keep no plants in the house because that is cruel and unusual punishment for the plant since they usually end up dead from lack of water), so Sue got the gardens all planted and moved plants around into places that made sense. She also decided that she had had enough with the scripture over the garage, so she bought some paint and painted over it.

In July, Steve decided to get rid of the frames around the windows, which was probably a good thing since they were filled with all sorts of bugs, including a wasp's nest. Steve and I spent most of yesterday painting the garage, the doorway, and all the other areas that needed painting (including the fences, what a pain!). I'm still not sure if I like the door being all one light color, but Steve absolutely loves it.

Alright, I better post the pictures now. Here they are:

Happy Birthday, Steve and Erin's Blog!

It's been a year since we started this blog, and a lot has happened in that time. I'm very excited that we've kept anything like this up for a year. Here's to another exciting upcoming year!

Pool Party!

Evie got to use her pool for the first time today! Unfortunately, the bathing suit I bought her a while ago didn't fit (so what else is new?) so she had to go swimming in her almost birthday suit. Thankfully, I did have some "Little Swimmers" that I had bought a while ago (this time in a really big size!) so she at least got to wear those. We bought the swimming pool about a month ago but just haven't had the time to use it. Well, the weather was great today, and we had plenty of time to relax in the pool!

Here is a new trick of Evie's. She is now able to get up on her hands and knees. She can't crawl yet (she'd rather just drag herself across the floor using her arms and feet) but she does rock back and forth.

Baby's First Pictures

Steve and I always love to show off pictures of our kids. Here are the most recent.
I’ve been to the doctor’s office 3 times now in the last 3 weeks, mostly for blood draws. I think they are a little concerned since we’re having the two so close. I had a doctor’s appointment this week to check on the progress of our latest addition. Since we couldn’t hear the heartbeat on the Doppler thingy, my doctor gave me an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. Here are the pictures of our son or daughter. The main thing this shows is that there is only one baby. No twins!

OK, so you have to use your imagination. The baby is the kidney bean shaped blob within the bigger blob shape. I’m told the head is down, and the body and the tail are up. Although, really I can only see the vague blob that is my baby. It’s too early to tell whether it is a boy or a girl.
I also had to add a picture of Evie here that I thought was adorable! Can’t show off one kid without showing off the other!

New Blog

We have decided to move our family blog off of a server I was running at home and onto blogger (Its free!). We will be moving all of the old posts over as time allows. We probably won't be able to post movies on blogger so we'll have to find an alternate method. At any rate you could always just ask me to mail you a CD or DVD.
